Item OVERSEAS DIRECT INVESTMENT- A STUDY ON GUARANTEE TO THE WOS AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH THE INDIAN MACROECONOMIC FACTORS(Journal of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, 2022-05-05) Vijayalakshmi D; Shalini, K MenonThis research has been undertaken to analyze the Indian macroeconomic factors that have to be scrutinized before investing in an overseas establishment in the form of guarantee. The Reserve Bank of India has been publishing the data on Overseas Direct Investments from India in the form of Joint venture(JV)and Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) since July 2007. The investments from India to the WOS are made in the form of equity, loan and guarantee. This study considers the guarantee investments only. The descriptive statistics has been employed to analyze the performance of the guarantee ODI. The Granger Causality Test and Johansen Cointegration test have been employed to estimate the short run and long run association between guarantee ODI and the Indian macroeconomic factors. The results of the study have shown that the investments in the form of the guarantee have a short run association with trade openness and inward FDI respectively. There is no long run association between guarantee and the macro economic factors of India.Item STOCK MARKET INDICES AND ITS IMPACT ON THE OUTWARD FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN FINANCIAL, BUSINESS AND INSURANCE SERVICES IN INDIA(Journal of Management and Research Analysis- Innovative Publication, 2019-01) D, Vijayalakshmi; Shalini K MenonOutward foreign direct investment in the service sector has shown a tremendous improvement in terms of magnitude over the years. This paper examines the impact of stock market indices, such as, SENSEX and Nifty on the outward foreign direct investments in the financial, business and insurance services in India. The monthly data for the study has been collected for a period of five years from 2013-2018 from RBI database and other secondary sources. ADF test, Johansen’s co-integration test and VECM have been employed to analyse the data. The findings of the study have indicated that the existence of a long run relationship between the variables proves that the development of the domestic stock market would helps to increase OFDI in the financial, business and insurance services in the long run.Item IMPACT OF IMPORT, EXPORT AND GDP ON THE OVERSEAS DIRECT INVESTMENT FROM INDIA(Our Heritage Journal, 2020-02) Vijayalakshmi D; Shalini K Menon“Never depend on a single income. An Overseas direct investment is one such platform wherein individuals and companies can invest abroad and take advantage of the benefits of such foreign investment. This paper has analysed the performance of Overseas Direct Investment from India over the last 10 years and has examined the macroeconomic determinants that influence the ODI. The ADF test, Johansen Cointegration test, VAR methodology and Granger Causality test have been employed in the study to analyse the data. The result of the study shows that export has been the major determinant in influencing the overseas direct investment from India.
