    SAVING AND INVESTMENT PATTERN OF RETIRED HOUSEHOLDS

    Retirement, a transitional life event that involves role relinquishment and an increase in leisure hours often has an impact on the structural of daily activities among retirees. Retirement seems to be a crucial Moment in the process of growing older since it is generally viewed as a point in time where older age begins. The need on studying the retired households is significant as this group of the population is living in the era of electronic, technological and wireless society and also been described as well-educated, confident, passionate, upbeat and socially conscious with high integrity. The impact of technology has been considered as one of the factors of the retired households spending and saving habits. This generation highlight on the value of product purchased and as for managing their financial and investment requirements. Retired households became the target of research in similar form mainly due to this group of the population comprises of a large demographic segment of consumers with high spending power.

    WORKING BEYOND RETIREMENT AGES - AN EMPIRICAL STUDY

    Retirement is one of the most important cross roads that we face in life. It involves a fundamental change in lifestyle-one that calls for a totally new outlook on how we approach each day. Retirement can be defined as the exit from an organizational position or career path of considerable duration. Motivation to continue working after retirement is concerned with the expectations and preferences towards staying employed beyond retirement age decision whether or not to work after retirement age is influenced by both work-related and non-work-related factors. The main objective of this research is to study the motivational factors for working after retirement and the problems faced by the retired working employees. The research was conducted on a sample of 120 respondents and data were collected through questionnaire administered. The results of the study provide several theoretical and practical implications.

    STRATEGIES USED BY THE WORKING WOMEN TO REDUCE TIME PRESSURE WITH REFERENCE TO COIMBATORE CITY

    Women are the pillars of the economy of the world. Family development is in the hands of the women. Women play an important role in every field. Now a day most of the women are working and achieving in their particular field. Every year 5.5 million educated women are entering into their work field. Many women have retained their work faster and easier. Time pressure may occur both in working place and also in family for working women. Pressure occurs when it is not possible to carry out their normal work where they should able to finish the work with tension and other factors. Working under frequent or constant time pressure may lead to health problems or job related illness. Time pressure may occur due to age structure, uncooperative management, expectations and reality of the situation and unclear structure. The main aim of the study “strategies used by working women to reduce time pressure” is to identify the factors used to reduce the time pressure and the level of satisfaction regarding the strategies followed to reduce time pressure and also to find out about the problems that may arise by using the strategies to reduce time pressure. The information processing strategy and task structure also determine to analyse the effects of time pressure.

    A STUDY ON SAVINGS BEHAVIOUR OF HOUSEHOLDS

    Saving is the mechanism that allows people to defer part of their consumption today in favour of consumption tomorrow. ‘Saving’ encompasses an individual’s decision to put money in a pension, to make out insurance against unemployment or ill health, to put money into savings account for a holiday or washing machine as well as to speculate on stock market. Savings behavior differs between people to people and country to country. Indian families are usually following the habit of savings for the future when compared to other developing and developed countries. This paper analyses the savings behavior of households in selected families of Coimbatore city, which is situated in the state of Tamilnadu, India. The study aims to find out the common motives among the households for savings and to identify the factors influenced for savings; besides these the study analyzed which person makes savings decision in a family and their satisfaction level of savings. The study gives idea about saving pattern of the households. Keywords: Savings behaviour, Saving pattern, motives, households.

    Work is an integral part of our everyday life, as it is our live hood or career or business. Work-life balance, though common to all, irrespective of gender, is very important for women the world over. Today's career women are continually challenged by the demands of full-time work and when the day is done at the office, they carry more of the responsibilities and commitments to home. The majority of women are working 40-45 hours per week and 53% are struggling to achieve work/life balance. Women reported that their lives were a juggling act that included multiple responsibilities at work, heavy meeting schedules, business trips, on top of managing the daily routine responsibilities of life and home

    READY TO COOK FOOD – PREFERENCE AND USAGE OF WORKING WOMEN

    Every region has different culture and different perceptions related to food. Main responsibility for the preparation of food lies with women. For working women it is difficult to give time to cooking after a long working hours. It is quite tiring to plan and prepare a food for working women, where every day chores as well as office work have no avoidance. She has more purchasing power however less time to cook and eat. There are options available for the food that fills the empty tummies which are also healthy and take less time and even some of them have pretty good taste too. As the work habits of women have increased, it has as effect on life style. The easiest way one could think of was ready to cook food. Food industry in response to consumers varying lifestyles and preferences has seen an concerted effort to meet up the desires of a time-hungry consumer through enlarged offerings of semi prepared ready to cook food. The people who are health conscious and want to a high quality meal or try a new eating experience prefer to have ready to cook meals.

    A STUDY ON WORK AND FAMILY CONFLICT OF WOMEN POLICE IN COIMBATORE CITY

    Work – Family conflict of women employees has become an important area for research. The days are gone when men was considered the sole breadwinner, in today’s world where both men and women are equally sharing the responsibility of family life, the burden and stress for women have considered to a great extent. This paper examines the multivariate relationship between work and family conflict and suggestions measures to balance among women police in Coimbatore City. A sample of 400 women police working in Coimbatore where selected using convenient sampling technique for data collection and relevant statistical tools were used to analyse the collected data.
