The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between academic performance and online game addictionItem IMPACT OF CASHLESS ECONOMY ON SMALL RETAILERS – AN ANALYTICAL STUDY IN COIMBATORE(International Journal of Management and Social Sciences (IJMSS), 2018-12) P, Aishwarya; M, MaheshwariCashless economy has been proposed successfully and the Government of India started implementing it through plans such as demonetization, e-payments, online banking, etc., The present study has been made to find out the opinion of small retailers on cashless economy and the problems faced by small retailers in accessing e-payment systems. The study is based on primary data collected from 120 small retailers in Coimbatore. Simple random sampling technique was applied and the data have been analyzed using the statistical tools namely, Percentage Analysis, Descriptive statistics, Mean Ranking and Kendall’s (W) co-efficient of concordance to reveal the results of the study. Small retailers have appreciated the initiative taken by the government to become a cashless economy and they have started to practice it. It involvesbuildingself confidence, raising awareness, expanding choices, increasing access to and control over resources. So empowering rural women, who are the backbone of our agrarian economy, is a sure path to achieve major economic gains. The rural women have a much greater, positive influence in factors governing sustainable development of the country. The present study is made to find out the role of family in encouraging rural women entrepreneurs, the problems faced by rural women entrepreneurs in promoting their venture and the measure they take to overcome difficulties. The study is based on primary data collected from 75 rural women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore. Simple random sampling technique was applied and the data have been analyzed using the statistical tools like simple percentage analysis and Kendall’s coefficient of concordance to reveal the results of the study. The rural women entrepreneurs have lack of family support as their major problem, and they have opined that when they could raise loans from banks and if they get family support in all their endeavours they will be able to overcome their difficulties and achieve great heights in their career.Item A STUDY ON USAGE OF DIGITAL MODES FOR FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS – WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TOWARDS WOMEN STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(Intercontenental Journal of Finance Research Review, 2017-02) P, Aishwarya; M, Maheshwari; S, RadhikaThe digital economy is the new productivity platform that some experts regard as the third industrial revolution. Digital revolution, also known as ‘The Internet Economy’ or Internet o Everything (IoE), is expected to generate new market growth opportunities, jobs and become the biggest business opportunity of mankind in the next 30 to 40 years. The current study on usage of digital modes for financial transactions – with special reference towards women students in Coimbatore has made an attempt to study the usage of digital modes and to know about the difficulties faced in such usage by the respondents. Primary data have been collected from 100 women students who are pursuing commerce degree at various colleges in Coimbatore. Data have been collected during February 2017. Descriptive statistical tool, percentage analysis and inferential statistical tools have been employed to analyze the primary data collected for study purpose. Sample for the study has been chosen by using convenience sampling technique. It has been found that majority of the students have not yet started using digital modes other than debit/credit card for financial transaction.Item A STUDY ON NON-FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS' SUPPORT TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN COIMBATORE(International Journal of Research in Finance and Marketing, 2016-08) M, Nagamani; P, AishwaryaInstitutional support for women entrepreneurs has been a channelised support mechanism organized by the governments or by voluntary associations. Supporting women in their business endeavourshas been the major goal of these institutions. The present study is made to find out the role of non-financial institutions in supporting and encouraging women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore. The study is based on primary data collected from 300 women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore who have availed support from the select non-financial institutions. Simple random sampling technique has been applied and the data have been analyzed using the statistical tools like simple percentage analysis, descriptive statistical tool viz., mean and standard deviation, ANOVA and t-Test to reveal the results of the study. It has been found that the non-financial institutions have mostly offered planning support to the respondents whereas production/ rendering service and marketing support have not been sufficiently offered by these institutionsItem LEVERAGE ANALYSIS ON SUBSIDIARIES OF ONGC(International Journal of Commerce and Management Research, 2016-01) P, Aishwarya; K, PavithraLeverage is used to describe the firm's ability to use fixed cost securities to increase the return to its owners. The current study hasconcentrated on analysing thefinancial operations of the two sample companies, Videsh Limited (OVL) and Mangalore Refineryand Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) based on their liquidity, profitability and leverage positions over a decade. The study is basedon secondary data collected from the financial reports published in the official websites of the two sample companies for a period often years from 2005-06 to 2014-15. The data have been analyzed using the financial and statistical tools namely Ratio Analysis,Mean, Standard Deviation,Coefficient of Variation and Correlation Analysis. It has been found that the operations of MangaloreRefinery and Petrochemicals Limited have to be reframed in order to assure sustainable business development and improved profitearnings in the future.Item FAMILY SUPPORT TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN COIMBATORE - AN ANALYTICAL STUDY(Intercontinental Journal of Human Resource Research Review, 2015-02) M, Nagamani; P, AishwaryaAfter 66 years of independence, India is still a patriarchal society. It is difficult for women to escape from the clutches of their counterparts and excel in career. Inspite of all the obstacles from within and outside her home woman has proved her talents in all the fields - education, business, politics, space, research, etc., but, the number counts relatively lesser than men. The progress of women from home-maker to an economic activist is required for the progress of Indian economy as a whole. During the last two decades, owing to the change in the attitude of the society and unstable economic conditions in the country which have resulted in increasing need of monetary support paved way for the emergence of women entrepreneurs. The present study has been conducted to understand the socio-economic background & business profile of the women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore and to analyse the extent of family support for women entrepreneurs. A sample of 300 women entrepreneur respondents who have availed support from financial and non-financial institutions have been selected by applying simple random sampling technique. Primary data collected from the respondents have been analysed using simple percentage analysis. The result of the study has suggested that majority of the women entrepreneurs have a supportive family who help them in their business activities.Item WORKING WOMEN’S OPINION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP – AN EMPIRICAL STUDY IN COIMBATORE(Indian Journal of Research (Peer Reviewed &Refreed International Journal), 2014-01) M, Nagamani; P, AishwaryaEntrepreneurship is a vital input to industrial development which leads to the development of the nation. Entrepreneurship which is an economic movement has been initially dominated by men all over the globe. In recent time owing to the change in the society few women have taken up entrepreneurship as their career. On the other hand owing to societal constraints and personal life obstacles many women are found to engage themselves as employees in some organization. The present study aims to identify the working women’s opinion on entrepreneurship and to find out the significant difference in their opinion based on socio-economic profile and their interest to become an entrepreneur. A sample of 150 working women in Coimbatore have been randomly selected as samples and primary data have been collected from them using a questionnaire. The data collected have been analysed using the statistical tools namely average score analysis, ANOVA and t-test. The results of the study show that irrespective of their socio-economic profile and their interest towards becoming an entrepreneur all the respondents have a positive opinion on entrepreneurship. Hence it has been suggested that special interest may be shown on working women to encourage them to become entrepreneurs.Item PROBLEMS FACED BY WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS – PERCEPTION OF WORKING WOMEN IN COIMBATORE(Indian Journal of Applied Research (Peer Reviewed &Refreed International Journal), 2014-12) M, Nagamani; P, AishwaryaThe empowerment of women indicates women gaining control over their own lives. It involves building self-confidence, increasing access to and control over resources. Working women population in India is showing an increasing trend but the transformation of working women into women entrepreneurs is a very rare case. In order to know the working women’s interest in becoming entrepreneurs and to find out their opinion on the various problems faced by women entrepreneurs the present study has been conducted. A sample of 150 working women in Coimbatore have been identified and primary data have been collected from them using a structured questionnaire. The data have been analysed using the statistical tools namely simple percentage analysis and ANOVA. The overall results show that most of the respondents are not interested to take up entrepreneurship as their career and the mean opinion scores on problems faced by women entrepreneurs reveal that majority of the respondents feel that problems faced by women as entrepreneurs are many.
