Abstract
Education plays its significant role in the success of a human in each and every
discipline. Education provides the skills to students to enhance their skills, to prepare them
physically, and to build them up mentally. For successful teaching it is not just required the
subject knowledge, but effective skills are also required. Teachers are the backbone of the
educational institutions. Without teachers, these institutions are considered the body without
soul. The teachers who got training can be expected to have high emotional intelligence.
Definitely teachers having good emotional intelligence, can teach students effectively, But it
is needed to measure this phenomenon. In the present study, the investigator has studied the
emotional intelligence, occupational stress and performance of teachers, who are the persons
responsible for moulding the future generation. The study has thrown light on the emotional
intelligence of teachers and its relation to their academic performance. The study has found
that emotional intelligence is positively correlated with academic performance.
