Item IMPACT OF SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS ON STRATEGIES EMPLOYED BY WOMEN LEADERS IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SECTOR IN INDIA(Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government, 2021) Vidyakala, k; Raji Jennet; Nithyakala, kLeadership development for women plays an indispensable function in economic progress of India. The present study tries to analyze the relationship between sociological and psychological barriers on various strategies employed by women leaders in IT/ITeS Sector in Bengaluru and Coimbatore in India among 436 samples using a structured questionnaire consisting of 83 constructs. Smart PLS SEM was used to test theoretical framework since the present study tries to explore an area which is relatively less researched in India. The results of the study found the existence of statistically significant path between socio-psychological barriers and the strategies.Item AN IMPACT OF SOCIOLOGICAL STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME SOCIOLOGICAL BARRIERS FACED BY WOMEN LEADERS(International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews, 2019-06) Vidyakala K; Raji JennetWomen are better positioned than ever before to raise leadership roles in the scenario for women leaders in India's corporate world. At the same time, there is a paucity of women leaders and women in senior management positions who could be taking up leadership positions later and thus it is the right time to address the issue of women leadership and encourage and support women to take up leadership roles. The fundamental structure of patriarchal society depends upon the understanding that male are superior, more powerful, and that they representing the “norm,” whereas women are considered as inferior; they lack in power and autonomy. The control of socialization that underlies this system cannot be ignored. In fact, gender related patriarchal values are so deeply ingrained in society's consciousness that they are largely invisible. Thus, women are more likely than men to encounter negative expectations and reactions, making it more difficult for them to reach positions of respect, influence, and leadership. The study primarily focuses women leadership in Information Technology and identifying the strength of women leaders. Some of the barriers of women leaders are facing managerial sex role stereotyping, work life balance, glass ceiling, cross cultural barriers. Coping strategies such as participatory leadership, determination to succeed, mentoring subordinates and delegation of power, continuous learning and planning served as support that strengthened these women against much of the difficulties they encountered in their professional roles. To get the most out of Industry 4.0 technologies, organizations will have to heavily invest in building capabilities in the following dimensions: data and connectivity, analytics and intelligence, conversion to the physical world, and human-machine interaction. Leadership 4.0 is one of the latest exhortations within the organization. It is a type of leadership that is cross-hierarchical, fast-paced, responsive, team-oriented and cooperative. Women leaders are actively work to expand their thinking ideas and systems in their leadership position. At present, it is important to recognize that these traits and accompanied by digitalisation of company’s business model. Connected physical and digital technologies make up systems capable to make autonomous decisions using data analysis and machine learning. The implementation of these smart technologies will redefine industries and competitiveness across the world.
