The total sample size of the study is 148. Anova and Correlation is used for analysis of data.

One of the variables Emotional intelligence which is related to the learning style of individuals. Emotional intelligence has been defined as talent, knowledge, and understanding which can guide our incentives to make us success in our life. Learning style includes discrete methods for processing information in learning new concepts. This study helps us to know the relationship between learning style and emotional intelligence .

    Outcome based education (OBE) is a process that involves the restructuring of curriculum, assessment and reporting practices in education to reflect the achievement of high order learning and mastery rather than the accumulation of course credits” (Tucker, 2004). Thus the primary aim of OBE is to facilitate desired changes within the learners, by increasing knowledge, developing skills and/or positively influencing attitudes, values and judgment. OBE embodies the idea that the best way to learn is to first determine what needs to be achieved. Once the end goal (product or outcome) has been determined the strategies, processes, techniques, and other ways and means can be put into place to achieve the goal.

    The main basis of OBE is producing outputs rather than inputs. The learning process is student centred rather than lecture-based as in the conventional approach. The process of designing programme curriculum, the outcomes of the learning is emphasised and pre-determined, that is, what is expected from the learning after the students have graduated in order to equip them with the necessary skills and capabilities before they enter the work place, then going backward with curriculum design, programme outcomes and course outcomes, the development of instructions, delivery modes and appropriate assessments methodologies.

    Outcome-based education (OBE) is an educational theory that bases each part of an educational system around goals (outcomes). By the end of the educational experience, each student should have achieved the goal. There is no single specified style of teaching or assessment in OBE; instead, classes, opportunities, and assessments should all help students achieve the specified outcomes. The role of the faculty adapts into instructor, trainer, facilitator, and/or mentor based on the outcomes targeted.

    A STUDY ON OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG BUSINESS ANALYTICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE

    Outcome based education (OBE) is student-centered instruction model that focuses on measuring student performance through outcomes. Outcomes include knowledge, skills and attitudes. Its focus remains on evaluation of outcomes of the program by stating the knowledge, skill and behavior a graduate is expected to attain upon completion of a program and after 4 – 5 years of graduation. In the OBE model, the required knowledge and skill sets for a particular engineering degree is predetermined and the students are evaluated for all the required parameters (Outcomes) during the course of the program. The OBE model measures the progress of the graduate in three parameters, which are: • Program Educational Objectives (PEO) • Program Outcomes (PO) • Course Outcomes (CO)

    Learning styles refer to the variations in student’s ability to accumulate as well as assimilate information. Basically, learning style is the method that best allows to gather and use knowledge in a specific manner. Most experts agree that there are three basic learning styles. Each individual may possess a single style or could possess a combination of different learning styles. In most cases, the characteristics of a learning style can even be observed at a relatively young age. (Ldpride2008).
