There are different styles of learning that have been used in the education system. The study is conducted to know the preferred learning style of Arts and Science Students in Coimbatore City. The total sample size of the study is 148. Anova and Correlation is used for analysis of data.Item ASSESSMENT OF OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG BA ECONOMICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(IJRAR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Anjana; Nandhini POutcome-based education (OBE) is an educational theory that bases each part of an educational system around goals (outcomes). By the end of the educational experience, each student should have achieved the goal. There is no single specified style of teaching or assessment in OBE; instead, classes, opportunities, and assessments should all help students achieve the specified outcomes. The role of the faculty adapts into instructor, trainer, facilitator, and/or mentor based on the outcomes targeted.Item ASSESSMENT OF OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(JETIR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Nandhini PLearning style assessments provide an opportunity to learn to respond under different circumstances and learn to approach information in a different way. Learning styles classifies different ways people learn and acquire information. Many a times students feel that they are unable to learn some concepts even after adopting a method followed by their parents, friends, colleagues or teachers. It signals that though all share some learning patterns each individual might have a different learning style. Knowing one’s own style, might help them to match the way they approach information, with the way they learn and process the information which leads to dramatic improvements in understanding, meaning making, self-image and improvement in grades.Item ASSESSMENT OF OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG MATHEMATICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(JETIR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Geerthana K; Nandhini POutcome based education (OBE) is a process that involves the restructuring of curriculum, assessment and reporting practices in education to reflect the achievement of high order learning and mastery rather than the accumulation of course credits” (Tucker, 2004). Thus the primary aim of OBE is to facilitate desired changes within the learners, by increasing knowledge, developing skills and/or positively influencing attitudes, values and judgment. OBE embodies the idea that the best way to learn is to first determine what needs to be achieved. Once the end goal (product or outcome) has been determined the strategies, processes, techniques, and other ways and means can be put into place to achieve the goal.Item A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ABOUT SOCIO – PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS AMONG WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP(International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts, 2018-01) Vidyakala K; Poornima S; Sheela J; Deepa J; Raji JennetThis paper is a study of leadership research, focusing primarily on socio- psychological barriers among women in leadership. Economic empowerment of women is very important for the development of a nation. Now a day socio-psychological barriers play a major role in the women leadership. Some of the barriers of women leaders are facing managerial sex role stereotyping, work life balance, glass ceiling, cross cultural barriers. Coping strategies such as participatory leadership, determination to succeed, mentoring subordinates and delegation of power, continuous learning and planning served as support that strengthened these women against much of the difficulties they encountered in their professional roles. This paper mainly focuses on various socio-psychological barriers among women leaders and recommends strategies for removal of these obstructions to women leaders.Item A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON EVOLUTION OF LEARNING STYLES(Indus, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Prathibha L; Nandhini PLearning styles refer to the variations in student’s ability to accumulate as well as assimilate information. Basically, learning style is the method that best allows to gather and use knowledge in a specific manner. Most experts agree that there are three basic learning styles. Each individual may possess a single style or could possess a combination of different learning styles. In most cases, the characteristics of a learning style can even be observed at a relatively young age. (Ldpride2008).Item A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES(JETIR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Nandhini PLearning style is a popular concept in psychology and education and is intended to identify how people learn best. VARK model of learning classified as visual learners, auditory learners, reading/writing learners, kinesthetic learners is the most preferred learning style used in research. It has long been a question as to whether students learn best when teaching methods and school activities match their learning style, learning strengths, and preferences. The fame of this idea developed drastically amid the 1980s, in spite of the proof proposing that individual learning inclinations have almost no genuine effect on learning results. While the current research has discovered that coordinating training techniques to learning styles has no effect on instructive results, the idea of learning styles remains greatly well known.Item A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE(Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research (JETIR), 2019-02) Vidyakala K; Nandhini P; Nithyakala; Deepa JLearning styles can be defined as the different methods that students use to learn, to process knowledge and to solve problems (Doğanay & Karip, 2006). Learning style is an ideal technique that varies from person to person in the process of perception and gathering information. One of the variables Emotional intelligence which is related to the learning style of individuals. Emotional intelligence has been defined as talent, knowledge, and understanding which can guide our incentives to make us success in our life. Learning style includes discrete methods for processing information in learning new concepts. This study helps us to know the relationship between learning style and emotional intelligence .Item A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEARNING STYLE & ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE(IJMRA, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Nandhini PLearning styles is said to be the style of learning of an individual. It has always been the main fear of many teachers and parents that their students and children has to be much successful as possible. Often, one’s learning style is identified in determining strengths for academic performance. It is the learning styles which helps the learner in obtaining meaningful and desirable knowledge. Good learning styles act as a strong weapon for the students to excel in life. In this study we are going to see the relationship between the learning styles and academic performance of studentsItem A STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES AMONG COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(Indus, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Prathibha L; Nandhini PTechnically, an individual’s learning style refers to the preferential way in which the student absorbs processes, comprehends and retains information. Students learn differently from each other and it has been determined that brain structure influences language structure acquisition. It also has different hemispheres of the brain contain different perception avenues efficient methods of acquiring, processing, storing and manipulating information, based on the theory that individuals differ on best take in and work with information.Item A STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES OF B COM CA STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(IJRAR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Kokila E; Nandhini PThe way a person prefers to absorb, process, comprehend and retain information is called his/her learning style (Harlon, 2017). Understanding learning styles or preferences is also crucial for teachers. Most classrooms are large and will have students showing a variety of preferences. Teachers should combine teaching methods geared towards these diverse types. Students learn more when information is obtainable in a variety of approaches rather than from a single approach (Teng, 2016)Item A STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES OF B COM ECOM STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(JETIR, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Nandhini PLearning style assessments provide an opportunity to learn to respond under different circumstances and learn to approach information in a different way. There is also a propensity to match students learning styles to the teaching styles of concerned teachers. There is a strong tendency for teachers and course designers to pay closer attention to students learning styles.Item A STUDY ON LEARNING STYLES OF B VOC STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(Indus, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Maheswari B; Nandhini PLearning Style has been regarded as one of the most important factors that control the way people learn. There is also a propensity to match students learning styles to the “teaching styles” of concerned teachers. In the realm of instructional design, the emphasis has gradually shifted towards achieving a match between the way learning resource materials are presented and the learning styles of the learners themselves.Item A STUDY ON OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG BA ECONOMICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(International Journal of Research in Social Sciences, 2019-05) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala; Deepa J; Anjana; Nandhini PWith a clear sense of what needs to be accomplished, instructors will be able to structure their lessons around the student’s needs. OBE does not specify a specific method of instruction, leaving instructors free to teach their students using any method. Instructors will also be able to recognize diversity among students by using various teaching and assessment techniques during their class. OBE is meant to be a student centred learning model. Teachers are meant to guide and help the students understand the material in anyway necessary, study guides and group work are some of the methods instructors can use to facilitate students learningItem A STUDY ON OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG BUSINESS ANALYTICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(IJMRA, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Chitra K; Nandhini POutcome based education (OBE) is student-centered instruction model that focuses on measuring student performance through outcomes. Outcomes include knowledge, skills and attitudes. Its focus remains on evaluation of outcomes of the program by stating the knowledge, skill and behavior a graduate is expected to attain upon completion of a program and after 4 – 5 years of graduation. In the OBE model, the required knowledge and skill sets for a particular engineering degree is predetermined and the students are evaluated for all the required parameters (Outcomes) during the course of the program. The OBE model measures the progress of the graduate in three parameters, which are: • Program Educational Objectives (PEO) • Program Outcomes (PO) • Course Outcomes (CO)Item A STUDY ON PERCEPTION TOWARDS OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION AMONG UNDERGRADUATE COSTUME AND FASHION DESIGNING STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(INDU, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Madhu S; Nandhini PThe main basis of OBE is producing outputs rather than inputs. The learning process is student centred rather than lecture-based as in the conventional approach. The process of designing programme curriculum, the outcomes of the learning is emphasised and pre-determined, that is, what is expected from the learning after the students have graduated in order to equip them with the necessary skills and capabilities before they enter the work place, then going backward with curriculum design, programme outcomes and course outcomes, the development of instructions, delivery modes and appropriate assessments methodologies.Item A STUDY ON PREFERRED LEARNING STYLES OF BA ECONOMICS STUDENTS IN COIMBATORE(INDUS, 2019) Vidyakala K; Nithyakala K; Deepa J; Anjana; Nandhini PLearning styles refer to a range of competing and contested theories that aim to account for differences in individuals' learning. These theories propose that all people can be classified according to their 'style' of learning, although the various theories present differing views on how the styles should be defined and categorized. A common concept is that individuals differ in how they learn. The idea of individualized learning styles became popular in the 1970s, and has greatly influenced education despite the criticism that the idea has received from some researchersItem TO STUDY WORKAHOLISM AND WORK LIFE BALANCE AMONG EMPLOYEES IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY(Our Heritage, 2020-02-03) Deepa J; Jayamala M; Srirangapriya BIn recent years workaholism and work life imbalance has become a regular behaviour pattern among IT professionals. The stress free and happy workforce is very important for the success of any organisation but many IT sectors are not following this pattern. In IT sectors, the employees are workaholic due to over stressed workplace. Self-negligence is assumed as a hallmark of workaholism due to modern development like high speed data connections add more to this belief as this makes it possible for employees to get addict in their work. The workaholism vanishes the distinctions between work life and family life. This overworking causes the work life imbalances and also affects the family life of employees. This workaholism and work life imbalance found to affect several domains of life. With regard to work domain workaholics peer or colleagues most likely on the grounds that they often feel the need to control them and experiences issues in allocating work. Given the more amount time they invest in their work leaves little energy for them for other activities also the social life outside work gets hampered. These situations lead to frequent breakdown among employee’s turnover and it leads to mental and physical health issues. This study explores the workaholism and work life balances of employees in IT sector.
