    Retail is the largest industry in the world and is controlled by few powerful businesses.The emergence of a more open world economy, the globalization of consumers’ tastes, and the development of a worldwide commercial web all have increased the interdependency and interconnections of markets across the globe. In such a global environment, firms should develop their marketing strategy.The Indian retail market will soon become more competitive as the small retailer groups have started using quality measures like Retail Service Quality Scales (RSQS) for their performance improvement and it will develop the suitable to Indian context. Retail showrooms will start offering multi-channel online retailing facility. The Indian society has shifted to purchasing product and services online in recent days. The online shopping destinations like eBay, Amazon comparison shopping portals like froogle and shopping.com will be popular in Indian community. Thus the customer can not only save time but also have a better comparison of products in the neighbourhood retail showrooms.

    A STUDY ON PUBLIC AWARENESS AND WILLINGNESS TOWARDS ORGAN DONATION

    Transplantation is considered one of the greatest advances of modern science that has given many patients arenewed lease of life.Improvements that increase the number and improve the quality of organs that are available for transplantation have been slow to come, with most of them have been developed through innovations in local practice standards.The research study has analyzed the public awareness and willingness towards organ donation. The survey has been conducted on the basis of Purposive sampling method. The survey has been conducted in Coimbatore city with sample size of 150 respondents.The findingsof the study reveal that 40 per cent of the respondents are in the age group of 25 years –34 years, 60 per cent of the respondents are female, and 40.7 per cent of the respondents are aware through their friends & relative. The study suggested that, awareness towards organ donation should be made to increase the donors. Educational Campaign and orientation for organ donation should be conducted regularly to raise the knowledge on organ donation among the public.

    Since library is committed to provide an excellent servicefor its users, it has to develop an on-going dialog with the users. One ofthe main tools that can be used to assess the library services is the usersurveys. This study was undertaken to assess library user satisfactionwith current information services and resources while identifying userneeds. A questionnaire based survey was used for data collection. Thequestionnaires were distributed among 190 PG & Research studentsin PSGR Krishnammal College for womenwho visitthe library. The respondents are highly satisfied regarding library service as press clipping service and Xerox facilities when compared to other facility.

    A STUDY ON CUSTOMER PREFERENCE TOWARDS CADBURY CHOCOLATE WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO COIMBATORE CITY

    Cadbury India operates in five categories –Chocolate confectionery, Beverages, Biscuits, Gum and Candy. In the Chocolate Confectionery business, Cadbury has maintained its undisputed leadership over the years. Some of the key brands are Cadbury Dairy Milk, 5 Star, Perk, Celebrations, Gems, Éclairs, The present study is based on the preference of CADBURY CHOCOLATE among the consumer. A sample survey of 200respondents was undertaken to find out thepreference of CADBURY CHOCOLATE in Coimbatore city. The study mainly concentrated on customer preference towards Cadbury chocolates,Convenience sampling technique has been used in the study,Percentage analysis, Multiple responses, Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and t-test..It was found from the study that the customers preferdairy milk chocolate when compared to other chocolates because the cost of the chocolate is very reasonable and the taste will attract the respondents.

    The grooming industry is getting a makeover. Usually, women like to go spa for their relaxation and haircut and beauty salon mostly used by ‘women’.Like for haircut salon, they used to go for a hair wash, hair coloring, hair straightening etc... and for beauty salon, they like to go for a manicure, pedicure, facial etc... for their every makeover they used to prefer salon only. Hence a study on customer preference towards Naturals’unisex Salon has been taken up. And also the purpose is to know customers opinion and factors influencing to visit the Naturals’ Salon. The data was collected from 200 respondents using questionnaire method. Purposive sampling method has been used to collect the data from the respondents. Simple Percentage analysis, Multiple responses, Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and t-test.It was found from the study that the respondents arestrongly agreed for factors influenced to High Status

    Work-life balance has become a more important issue in the twenty first century. Work and family are like two sides of the coin as both are interconnected and interfere with each other. Increases “work demands” interferes with family life and on the other hand “family demands” interfere with the work-life of an employee. Therefore, conflicts occur which negatively affect an employee’s performance at work as well as at home. Looking at this, organizations have increasingly started to take an active interest in implementing practice that enables the employee to balance work and family life. Work-life balance practices will not only increase the individual performance, but the organizational performance will also enhance by many fold. Proper work-life balance, helps the employee to balance their work and personal life, which in turn reduces stress, tension, conflict and help in attaining job satisfaction. Work-life balance (WLB) is an issue increasingly recognized as strategic importance to organizations and significance to employees. Work-life Balance is Human Resource Strategy, which is already recognized as the ultimate key for Human Resource Development among all the work systems.

    A STUDY ON CONSUMER’S PREFERENCE AND PURCHASE INTENTION TOWARDS ORGANIC POULTRY

    The consumer of today places increased importance on food safety, environmental and health issues and quality, hence some are willing to purchase organic meat. Evaluation models used in previous organic food research have identified variables such as health consciousness, environmental concern, animal welfare and income as important determinants of organic food choice. The objective of this research was to examine the Preference of consumers towards Organic Poultry and to find the Purchase intention of consumers towards Organic Poultry examine consumer perceptions of organic meat. A questionnaire was completed by 150 respondents, which were representative of the Coimbatore city people, It has been clarified that most of the consumers’ purchase motives are only with taste and health dimensions. So the future purchase of Organic Poultry will aim to satisfy the consumers’ dimensions. The study has clearly depicted that Organic Poultry are tastier and healthier than any other poultry and it makes consumers to purchase accordingly

    The retail sector has played a phenomenal role throughout the world in increasing productivity of consumer goods and services. The retail industry in India has come forth as one of the most dynamic and fast paced industries with several players entering the market. The Indian retail industry is the largest among all the industries, accounting for over 10 percent of the country’s GDP and around 8 percent of the employment. The main challenge facing the organized sector is the competition from unorganized sector. The organized retail segment is mainly dominated by the apparel and textile segment followed by the food, grocery and beverages segments. The changing consumption pattern is unleashing opportunities for retailing growth in Indian urban area. This has to be reached to the Indian rural for a viable retailing in India.

The increases in the purchasing power of the Indian middle classes and the influx of the foreign investments have been encouraging in the Growth of Retail Companies in India.
