Several Government schemes have been formulated in order to promote the same. Studies indicate that the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs are different compared to their male counterparts. In order to gain a deeper understanding about women entrepreneurship and answer the basic question of what is required to actually succeed as an entrepreneur, the current study aims to investigate the Role of Opportunity Competence and Emotional Intelligence in aiding the Firm Performance among firms run by Women Entrepreneurs. The present article discusses the results of the study conducted among 150 women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore District.Item EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND LEARNING AGILITY TO SURVIVE IN THE VUCA ENVIRONMENT OF INDUSTRY 4.0(ICSSR - Proceedings of the National Seminar on Sustainable Business Approaches and Models for Industry 4.0, 2019-10) M., Reshma; B., SripirabaaEmotional Intelligence is the ability to efficiently appraise the emotions of one as well as others’, and regulate them. It determines the emotional quotient of a person and helps the individual to handle the emotions in a way that will help the individual to stay motivated and exhibit superior performance. It also enables an employee to cope with the demands and uncertainties in working environment by enhancing his/her learning agility. Known to be an important trait of high performers, learning agility enables a person to learn something from every experience and apply it in new situations. An individual with good learning agility is flexible and is able to adjust and readjust to new situations and projects as they evolve. This trait enables an employee to navigate through challenges especially in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) environment like Industry 4.0. The fourth Industrial revolution though mainly concerns the automization of manufacturing processes, will also have implications on the human resources of an organization. While industry 4.0 is anticipated to disrupt the working environment within organizations, the pressure to perform will be more than ever and learning agility of an employee will positively predict his/her performance levels during these challenging times. This article dwells on the relationship between emotional intelligence and learning agility of an individual and how enhancing the learning agility of the employees could be significant in ensuring the sustainability of an organization during Industry 4.0.Item CHANGING ORGANIZATION DESIGN AND ITS INFLUENCE ON MANAGING SOCIAL AND HUMAN CAPITAL(St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, Karnataka, 2019-01) R, SreeprabhaIn the 21st century the organizations’ main focus is on building the resources, both human and material, most importantly the emphasis is on managing the intangible human capital. The growing evidence is that the successful management of human resources helps to reach organizational excellence, and brings out the best return on investment for the sustainable development. Managing human capital and their issues play out more or less the same way around the world in order to cope up with the changing trends in the economy. Hence the leaders have to take decisions in managing the human resources effectively. Management of these resources involves designing and changing the organization’s architecture while considering the individual’s accountability and responsibility, the ways to promote people on the basis of hierarchy, their performance and finally how the human resources are treated with their bunch of human rights. Thus the organization should try to engrave the skills and abilities of individuals, thereby making the job meaningful and thereby reach the competitive advantage which fits with the strategy of an organization and make everything better off.
