In spite of their problem migration is very much needed in a country for its development. As compared to that of international migration even internal migration is now having its growth rapidly. This paper is framed to understand if there is role of gender and remittance behavior of migrant workers. For this purpose the study has been conducted among 100 migrant workers who were employed in various jobs into garment unity of Tirupur district. And various studies have been carried by researchers and scientist on the climate change process but very less of them concentrate on the impact of such climate change on migration. Generally climate change will make the population to migrate because it will affect the place in a such a way that it will make the world hard for living by causing food and water supplies to become more unreliable and also it will increase the frequency of disaster common. Agriculture is one of the most necessary activities that are very much needed for mankind as without food living of human becomes very difficult. But with this change in the climatic condition now a day’s agricultural labour are facing it difficult to depend on agriculture for their livelihood. This is being one of the main reasons for them to migrate to urban areas and indulge them into some other works for money. The present study is been made to understand the impact of climate change on the labour force which makes to migrate in search of other employment. With this background the present study is been carried out among 100 migrant sample respondents working in Tirupur District. Various questions on the reasons for migration, problems of migration and migration pattern has been asked to the respondents and the result are been analyzed.Item HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION ON MIGRANT WORKERS: A STUDY ON MIGRANT WORKERS EMPLOYED IN GARMENT INDUSTRIES OF TIRUPUR DISTRICT(Shanlax Publication, 2017) V, Dhivya Keerthiga; K, ArulselvamHuman migration entails movement of people from one locality or location to another, sometimes over long distances and in large groups. Migration of people occurs for various reasons: exodus during ethnic conflict, natural disaster, political instability, economic hardship as well as search for economic and social improvement, betterment of livelihood and so on. Migration is not a recent phenomenon. For centuries, even during pre-historic times, there are evidences of people moving from one region to other. People moved across length and breadth of a country, at times across borders for social economic and political reasons. Human rights are considered to be the general moral principles or norms which describe certain standard of human behavior and are regularly protected as legal rights in laws. Every human are been to enjoy certain rules and freedom in their life. But, in some circumstances the rights of the human are been violated. Garment Production, is termed as a manufacture and processing of knitwear products or merchandise, including its design, treatment at various stages, and financial services contributed by bankers. Tirupur and Chennai in Tamil Nadu are the bastion of garment export oriented industries, of which the former is the prominent one. Migrant populace from various parts of Tamil Nadu and other states get employed throng Tirupur region, since the region wants those indigent and unskilled workers for its knitwear and its ancillary industries. And now days a large number of northern people are found to migrate and find their employment in the garment sector of Tirupur Districts by various agents and brokers. This particular study is about to examine the “Human Rights Violation on Migrant Workers: A Study on Migrant Workers Employed in Garment Industries of Tirupur District”. Everywhere in the world all countries are facing rise in temperature in the atmosphere due to which there is high fluctuation in the rainfall, decreasing of ground water, flood during high rainfall, drought, soil erosion, heavy wind, rising of sea level, melting of glacier etc. even though it is been seen as natural factor even humans contribution is being large in number. With this kind of climate change there is large and dangerous effect on the agriculture of the world. Agriculture is one of the most necessary activities that are very much needed for mankind as without food living of human becomes very difficult. But with this change in the climatic condition now a day’s agricultural labour are facing it difficult to depend on agriculture for their livelihood. This is being one of the main reasons for them to migrate to urban areas and indulge them into some other works for money. This present study is been made in order to analyze the impact of climate change on the migrant labors who are been employed in garment industries with special concentration to Tirupur district. Data`s pertaining to the study was collected from 100 migrant workers randomly.
