Item ANALYSIS OF CAPITAL STRUCTURE DETERMINANTS: SELECTED SERVICE COMPANIES(International research journal of management & Commerce, 2017-08) Thulasipriya B; PavithraCapital structure is one of the most significant features of organizational finance and should be managed efficiently. The present study is conducted with a regression analysis, to analyze the determinants of capital structure of service companies. For conducting the present study, annual reports from 11 service companies, listed in stock exchange in India (2017), is collected for last 5 years i.e. from 2012 to 2016. Analysis shows that Liquidity and dividend payout ratio are positively correlated with profitability and negatively correlated with other variables. Profitability is positively correlated with size and growth. It is negatively correlated with the non debt tax shield and tangibility. Size is positively correlated with the ndts, tangibility and growth. There is a positive correlation between ndts, tangibility and growth. Regression result shows that the size, tangibility and growth have positive impact on debt equity ratio and liquidity, dividend payout ratio, profitability and non debt tax shield have negative impact on debt equity ratio.Item CAPITAL STRUCTURE ANALYSIS OF SELECTED HOSPITALS IN INDIA - AN EMPIRICAL STUDY(Researchers world- Journal of Arts, Science & Commerce- Vol 8 issue 2(8) – UGC Approved, 2017-04) Thulasipriya B; Pavithra PCapital structure is one of the most important areas of financial decision making. Identifying the right proportion of debt and equity of capital structure has been much difficult to bring favorable results for the organization. This study is attempted to find out the relationship between capital structure and profitability of the selected hospitals in India. Debt equity ratio and debt to total fund are used as the measures for capital structure while return on equity, return on capital employed and return on asset as the proxy for profitability. The findings of the results revealed that capital structure has a positive relationship with the profitability of selected hospital in India.Item A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTOR EMPLOYEES PREFERENCE ON VARIOUS INVESTMENT AVENUES(International Journal of Research in Finance and Marketing- Volume 6, Issue 4, 2016-04) Thulasipriya BIndia needs very high rate of investments to make a bound forward in efforts of attaining high level of growth. The outlook from the employees belong to salaried earners, and the population is fixed as 500. Instead of studying the complete range of investors, it is focusing only one segment called salaried Government employees. A variety of statistical tools are employed to analyze the data like Friedman Rank Test, Chi-square, etc to identify the right relationship among the factors related with investment. Consumers’ awareness and perception of health care service quality therefore play an important role when choosing a hospital. This study is to identify the consumer awareness, perception and the problems faced by the respondents in hospitals. The data has been collected from 50 consumers in Coimbatore by applying random sampling technique. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis and weighted score analysis have been used to analyze the data. Finding of the study reveals that there is no significant relationship between age, gender, educational level, occupation, family type, marital status and level of satisfaction of Hospitals. Social media generally refer to media used to enable social interaction. For our purposes, the term social media technology (SMT) refers to web-based and mobile applications that allow individuals and organizations to create, engage, and share new user-generated or existing content, in digital environments through multi-way communication. The use of social media interfaces through computer and mobile devices has become quite widespread, and currently, the two most prominent interfaces are Facebook and Twitter. Facebook allows users to create profiles; allows those user-operated profiles to interact with each other; allows for the expression of interests and the discovery of commonalities between users; and allows users to build and maintain connections and invite others to join a community. In contrast, Twitter is a social media interface that enables users to share a limited amount of user-generated content, quickly and easily, to an extensive number of other users. With this interface, the communication exchange is central, and the creation and sharing of user profiles is not necessary, but Twitter can link to user profiles that exist on other social media interfaces. Though teachers and students are now pushing learning beyond the borders of the classroom through social networking, which move also comes with hurdles, including the fact that many schools still block access to such sites within their walls. Five food processing firms were taken for the study period of 2013-2014 to 2017-2018. Correlation, multiple regression and ANOVA tools has been applied to analyze the objective. They allocate their savings in various aspects of investment avenues. Most of them will look after the safety of their investment rather than high returns. The study reveals that bank deposit still remains the most preferred investment avenues of the households. The results also highlight that certain factors like education level, age of investors, number of family members etc make significant impact while deciding on the avenues for investment. The present study is based on primary sources of data which are collected by distribution of a close ended questionnaire. The data has been analyzed using chi-square test. The research shows that majority of the respondents are saving money as Bank deposits for the safety of an unpredictable future. Finding of the study reveals that there is no significant relationship between age, gender, marital status, educational qualification, Occupation, Family monthly income with level of satisfaction in Private hospitals.Item STATE-WISE DEPLOYMENT OF EDUCATION LOAN IN INDIA(International Research Journal of Management and Commerce, 2017-10) Thulasipriya B; Esakkiammal CEconomic growth in recent years has been based on availability and quality of knowledge in any country, which in turn depends on access and affordability to education. Finances for education are mobilized from different sources like government spending, fees, educational loans, and others. Among these, educational loan has been seen as an alternative way of financing for education. In 2001, the Indian Banks Association has come up with a model frame work for educational loans in the country. With the approval of the Central Government the public sector and private sector banks in India started to give education loans. With the increasing need of education loan, it is necessary to evaluate the distribution of education loan by banks both state wise and region wise in India. Among the region-wise distribution of education loan southern region contributes the highest share of education loan accounts and state Tamil Nadu contributes the highest share of education loan in the state-wise deployment of education loan. The percentage analysis of deployment of education loan state wise and region wise had resulted that, though the distribution of the education loan all over India is increasing, RBI along with the Government can craft the scheme to make it more feasible to the northern and north eastern region of India.Item A STUDY O THE DIVIDEND POLICY OF INDIAN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY(European Journal of Commerce and Management Research” Special Issue I, 2015, 2015-02) Thulasipriya BDividend policy is a key decision area in the field of financial management; it is the fulcrum around which all other financial policies resolve. Some observers of corporate behaviour assume that dividend policy is determined easily because it determines the unused portion of corporate profits. In this paper, an effort has been made to evaluate the growth and working of the IT Companies with reference to the dividend policy. The study is diagnostic and exploratory in nature and makes use of secondary data. This study concludes that the IT Companies have significantly improved their working performance and there the investors are paid good.
