Item TIGHT FOCUSING PROPERTIES OF CIRCULARLY POLARIZED ANNULAR MULTI-GAUSSIAN BEAM THROUGH A UNIAXIAL BIREFRINGENT CRYSTAL(International Journal of Optics and Photonic Engineering,Vibgyor Publishers.org, 2010-10-24) Murugesan R; ThiruArul D; Rajesh K B; Lavanya M; Mahadevan GFocusing properties of circularly polarized annular multi-Gaussian beams through a uniaxial birefringent crystal is investigated numerically by vectorial Debye theory. Results show that the optical intensity in focal region of circularly polarized annular multi-Gaussian beams can be altered considerably by the topological charge [n], beam order [m] and birefringence [Δn]. Many novel focal structures such as focal spot, focal hole and flat top profile of sub wavelength structure are achieved.Item TIGHTLY FOCUSING PROPERTIES OF RADIALLY POLARIZED DOUGHNUT GAUSSIAN BEAM THROUGH A UNIAXIAL BIREFRINGENT CRYSTAL(International Journal of Innovations in Engineering and Technology (IJIET), 2018-08) Lavanya M; ThiruArul D; Rajesh K BThe properties of radially polarized doughnut shaped beam tightly focused through aC system is studied numerically by the use of vectorial diffraction theory for small birefringence condition. It is observed that many novel focal patterns such as sub wavelength scale focal spot, focal hole and flattop profiled focal spot evolved considerably when properly choosing the doughnut angle (θ0) of incident Doughnut Gaussian (DG) beam. We also observed that axial shifting of generated focal patterns is possible with increasing the birefringence value [Δn] of the uniaxial crystal. We expect such a possibility of tuning and shifting the generated focal patterns finds possible applications in optical trapping and manipulating of particles and in material processing.
