Item FDI - A CONSTITUENT OF INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ITS IMPACT ON INDIAN STOCK MARKET(Online Research Book Publication, 2019-02) D, Vijayalakshmi; Shalini K MenonInternational financial management has been gaining significance over the years with the increase in the flow of currencies across borders. The movement in currencies results from import, export and from direct investments made in the form of wholly owned subsidiaries or joint ventures. The inward and outward foreign investments have an impact on the domestic stock market and it results in its overall economic growth. However a well developed stock market is dependent on several macroeconomic and institutional variables. This paper examines the impact of FDI inflow and outflow on the stock market development in India from 2004 to 2017. Market capitalization has been employed as a proxy variable to measure the stock market development. ADF test, Johansen’s co-integration test and VECM have been applied in the study. An Overseas direct investment is one such platform wherein individuals and companies can invest abroad and take advantage of the benefits of such foreign investment. This paper has analysed the performance of Overseas Direct Investment from India over the last 10 years and has examined the macroeconomic determinants that influence the ODI. The ADF test, Johansen Cointegration test, VAR methodology and Granger Causality test have been employed in the study to analyse the data. The result of the study shows that export has been the major determinant in influencing the overseas direct investment from India.Item STOCK MARKET INDICES AND ITS IMPACT ON THE OUTWARD FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN FINANCIAL, BUSINESS AND INSURANCE SERVICES IN INDIA(Journal of Management and Research Analysis- Innovative Publication, 2019-01) D, Vijayalakshmi; Shalini K MenonOutward foreign direct investment in the service sector has shown a tremendous improvement in terms of magnitude over the years. This paper examines the impact of stock market indices, such as, SENSEX and Nifty on the outward foreign direct investments in the financial, business and insurance services in India. The monthly data for the study has been collected for a period of five years from 2013-2018 from RBI database and other secondary sources. ADF test, Johansen’s co-integration test and VECM have been employed to analyse the data. The findings of the study have indicated that the existence of a long run relationship between the variables proves that the development of the domestic stock market would helps to increase OFDI in the financial, business and insurance services in the long run.
